I’m Nissa — a Nutritional Therapist and Wellbeing Coach — and I’ve been there. In this two-part blog series, I share my journey from health struggles to discovering the tools, nutrition, and practices that help women feel vibrant, balanced, and full of joy.
Early Years: Perfectionism & Pressure
From a young age, I was naturally introverted and often put pressure on myself to achieve. Teachers described me as “quiet,” and I carried that need to prove myself into my teens and early adult life. I became a perfectionist — striving for top grades, pushing myself, and often feeling stressed or overwhelmed.

True wellbeing isn’t about being perfect — it’s about listening to your body and mind
University & Health Challenges
University was an exciting new chapter, but it also brought unexpected health challenges. Stress, lifestyle, and genetics caught up with me, and I was forced to pause and listen to my body.
During this period, I explored complementary therapies and self-development, looking for ways to feel healthier and happier. It was the beginning of a journey that taught me the importance of nurturing both mind and body.
Discovering the Power of Nutrition
After completing my studies in naturopathy, I focused on healing my own health. Medications and past stress had left me with fatigue, digestive issues, and low energy. My diet was full of processed foods, sugar, and convenience meals — not what my body needed.
Slowly, I began making changes. I swapped processed foods for whole, nourishing meals, planned and cooked my own recipes, and discovered how food can restore energy, reduce inflammation, and support wellbeing.
With renewed motivation, I began exercising regularly, building confidence and strength I hadn’t felt in years. Step by step, I regained control over my health — and my life.
Finding My Purpose
This personal transformation made me realise that I wanted to help others experience the same. Working in a health food shop highlighted how many women were looking for quick fixes, when what they really needed was guidance, understanding, and a sustainable approach to health.
This led me to specialise further in Nutritional Therapy, combining knowledge of food, lifestyle, and emotional wellbeing to support women in a holistic way.
