I've been where you are

My name is Nissa and I am a registered and accredited  Nutritional Therapist and training in Well-being Coaching .

I also know how it feels not be in control of my body. As a Nutritional Therapist I was already eating a healthy diet and taking care of myself the best that I could. However, in 2020,  I started to experience symptoms that were out of my control and caused me much frustration and confusion. Out of nowhere I experienced an all over body rash, that lasted a week. Followed with symptoms such as continual burning watery eyes and exacerbated hay fever symptoms. I thought I had an allergic reaction and hay-fever was present. However, over the next few months things got worse and I suffered with digestive pain, bloating and constipation. I also felt exhausted and experienced anxiety, sweats and low mood

After learning about  histamine intolerance within my nutrition training, I realised that my body was having a histamine reaction and I was reacting to histamine in food. 

This realisation led to more research into histamine intolerance and  I started to follow a low histamine diet. Whilst I felt a reduction of symptoms following  a low histamine diet, I still suffered with sweats and digestive symptoms . Whilst diet was the first step towards my healing, I realised that diet alone would not support my body.

Levels of histamine in the body can increase due to several factors such as emotional stress and trauma, bacteria, viruses and toxins from the environment. 

I had experienced histamine reactions following covid time and had food poisoning a few months before my reaction. It became clear as I put the pieces together that there were several factors into play that I need to address.

After some nutritional functional tests such as genetics and stool tests that help me understand the root causes of my histamine intolerance, it became clear of what my next steps were for healing my body, specifically addressing my gut and managing my stress.

I took a holistic approach in my healing and worked on supporting my individual needs.  

I now specialise in supporting women that have histamine intolerance or are suffering with unexplained symptoms and chronic digestive complaints and are struggling to see improvement in their health.
